Bio

Tierra Izzo  | Tierra is a deviser/performer, dramaturg, and entrepreneur. She trained as a performer at Emerson College, Boston, MA where she was nationally awarded for her dramaturgical work by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) in 2011. Her dramaturgy credits include: The Golden Age (Emerson Stage), Much Ado About Nothing (Jobsite Theatre), Darling: a new musical (Rareworks), Rossum’s Universal Robots (Emerson College), and assisting on Cafe Variations (SITI Company). She has also worked in new plays, assisting in the literary department at Woolly Mammoth Theatre (Washington, D.C.) as well as assistant coordinating a community-based new play festival in Sarasota, Florida (2013). She graduated with distinction with an MA in Advanced Theatre Practice from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London (2014/15) where she devised and created Risen by Leveluvwu (BAC Hourglass Scratch), Here We Come Together, Here We Fall Apart (Subsublime, Sprint Festival, Camden People’s Theatre), Cumulus (Prague Quadrennial Festival of Space & Design), Performance A: CAGE (Imp Fest, Hornsey Town Hall), No.1 (Rag Factory), Performance B: Bespoken Moments (More Storm Festival, Middlesex University), and When You Were Born A Storm Rolled In (Saturday Live, Bank Street Arts) and worked with Dante or Die and Look Left Look Right. She continues as a play reader for the Sundance Theatre Festival (U.S.) while running her theatre company, Artists Anonymous, with her husband Nick. In this she pursues her own creative practice exploring the experimental performance practice live-construction, while developing a sustainable business model for the arts. She was also a co-founder and creator of the five-star rated escape room, SoCo Escape Room, and loves constructing immersive environments for participants to solve their way out of.
